#MeTimeMonday: DIY Beauty Treatments To Do At Home

As the warmer weather starts to kick in and we spend more time out and about (and perhaps even entertain the possibility of baring our pasty pins!), it's a great time of year for a bit of DIY pampering. So this #MeTimeMonday we're sharing some of our favourite recipes for homemade beauty treatments, making the most of natural ingredients without any hidden nasties (which is our mantra here at BRYT!)...
Tea Bag Hair Treatment: Give your hair a natural shine and colour boost using tea. Our daily brew contains pigments which can neutralise brassiness, as well as caffeine which helps prevent hair loss. A weekly tea rinse will give your hair extra shine and make it super soft and easy to manage.
How to: Take two tea bags of either chamomile (for blondes), rooibos (for redheads) or English breakfast (for brunettes), soak in boiling water for 10 minutes & let it cool on the side or in the fridge to room temperature. Pour the rinse over just washed hair, rubbing in, and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing out and then styling as normal.
Coffee & Almond Oil Body Scrub: Ground coffee is a wonderful natural exfoliant which not only smells delicious but is also known to help reduce cellulite when applied to the skin. Almond oil contains a host of antioxidants as well as skin loving vitamin E.
How to: Combine 100g ground coffee with 50g brown sugar and 50ml of almond oil (you can also use coconut oil or even olive oil here). Scrub all over, rinse off, and marvel at your now baby soft skin! For an added hydration boost, moisturise afterwards with coconut oil.
Avocado and Honey Face Mask: As delicious as it is on our morning toast, there's another great way to use our favourite green wonder ingredient and that's in this ultra replenishing and hydrating facial mask. This mask is ideal for dry skin, and the honey gives skin an extra glow as well as being a natural antibacterial.
How to: Mash 1/2 a ripe avocado with 2 tablespoons of honey (as good quality as you can afford). Apply to the face and leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse off in the shower or with a damp cloth. For extra glow, follow with BRYT Boost Serum.
Super Soft Banana & Oat Foot Treatment: Rich in powerful antioxidants, phytochemicals, and antibacterial properties, banana moisturises, nourishes and softens the dry, rough skin on our heels. The addition of oat helps exfoliate and slough away dead skin.
How to: Mix 1 very ripe banana with 100g finely ground oats and 50ml coconut oil into a paste, then massage the mixture all over your feet for at least 30 seconds, rinsing off under the shower.
